KENNEDY CENTER

The John F. Kennedy center for the performing Arts is a national memorial, it receives federal funds for building maintenance and Operations. performances productions and educational activities are supported through ticket sales, and contributions from Individuals, coroporatinns, and private foundations. A National cultural center for the performing arts. the Kennedy center is one of the nationals busiest cultural institutions. Each year, for audiences numbering more than 2 million the center presents more than 2,000 performances of Washington's and musical's dance and ballet: orchestral, chambet. A national presidential memorial located 17 acres overlooking Potomac river in Washington D.C the Kennedy center is a unique living monument. In 1958, president Dwight D. Eisenhower signed legislation established a National cultural center, and the center was designated as the nation's memorial to president kenndey center now stands as a tribute to his strong belief in cultural achievement as an integral part of the human expericence, and to his efforts to established what he called ''a New Froniter for American art. A National leader in education each year, the kennedy center brings the arts to more than 11 million young people, educatours, and families throughout the nation. The kennedy center nutures artistry in young people through many music, dance, and theater education programs
